Best color.
So cheap! Almost 4k cheaper than one with a CVT to boot.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
If you paid $7,000 down at 4.5% for 60 months, that’s about ahhhhh $317.00 a month, per some online calculator thing. And I can’t even justify that. How the hell are people financing full size SUVs and trucks?

My eyes are still watering that $23k and “cheap” were used together in a sentence to describe a Corolla.

I’ve done it three times! 5 years flies by pretty fast and then you have paid about $30k including interest for a car that is now worth about $12k.

Considering the options — NA 4-banger aside — it ain't bad. $23,000 doesn't go very far for new cars these days.

The times they are a-changin...
But I’m glad the manual corolla hatchback exists and is good.

Christ. I know Toyotas are good cars, but people finance them above 0%?
The question isn’t how people are financing cars, it’s how many of them are seeing the loan through to the end (spoiler: not many will)

The Impreza I drove today was loaded with all the safety systems and had a sticker of almost $28k. Car prices are getting stupid.

Getting i nto debt for a basic Corolla isn’t worth it.

New cars are getting too expensive. Remember when you could get a new 4wd Wrangler for $24k?
The most expensive car I ever purchased was a brand new ‘13 Forester XT. Turbo, AWD crossover for $28k. I should have held on to that fucker.

That Corolla hatch would be a great work car for me, sans the manual transmission. But, $23,000 for a car? I can’t see me paying that much for a car in the near future. Not with a teenage boy getting his license soon, and the additional hike in my, admittedly low, insurance costs. I’ve been looking at cars in the $8,000 - $10,000 range, and putting out some vibes to the Mrs. about maybe it’s time for a newer to me car, and passing the Focus down to my son for back and forth to school.

I have no idea. I was reading that the days of zero percent are over though

For 23k I would 100% buy an Elantra GT Sport over this.

I can’t comment on much else, as I lease, so it is all money out the door, live for today, yolo etc
23K aint what it used to be, just like a 300K house aint what it used to be.

My 18 4 door f150 lease is only $362. How can you not? No maintenance except 3 oil changes and a new truck every few years. Buy toys with cash.

That just seems crazy high, but I haven't checked either.

I just got 2.24% from my credit union. They offer that rate on new and used. I picked up a '13 Mazda 3 i for $7400 when my Outback's engine finally let go.

Did a check and the the 1989 Corrolla MSRP listed o n NADA.com is $9,198 . Corrected for 2019 inflation (roughly) is $18,856. So 24k seems high. Although you do get a lot more car, literal size wise.

Your struggle with the Corolla Hatchback reminds me of my struggle with the Elantra GT .

A base model Impreza only costs about $1k more than it did a decade ago though.
